LATEST Dos and Don’ts for Phoenix Comic Fest – Updated May 16, 2018
Phoenix Comic Fest is almost here!
With the event right around the corner, we want to make sure you’re prepared for a fantastic weekend. Here are some useful tips and important info to help make your weekend as smooth as possible. We can’t wait to see you there!
To speed through security, we encourage you to pack light and carry everything in a clear bag if you can. We know that’s not always possible, so here’s our list of
Dos & Don’ts.
Food and Drink
DO– Bring a water bottle. Reusable or collapsible water bottles are easy to carry and easy to refill. Water stations and fountains are outside and throughout the facility.
DO– Bring snacks (only enough for personal consumption). Please check the convention center website for additional details.
DON’T– bring a whole pizza, order food for delivery, bring a box of 24 donuts and a six-pack of soda. Food brought on-site is limited but a number of new and even healthy options have been added this year so you don’t have to leave the secure zone or go hungry.
Bags & Backpacks
DO– Bring what you need, bring an extra bag to carry your purchases, bring a backpack, sling bag, or messenger bag. They’re all welcome.
DO– Bring a clear bag if you have one. Security is even faster when you can go through the clear/no bag checkpoint.
DON’T– be surprised to spend an extra minute or so in the security line. All bags, purses, diaper bags, strollers, cases, etc will be thoroughly inspected at the security checkpoint.
Cosplays
DO– Dress up if you want to. We love our cosplayers and welcome you with open arms (or wings).
DO– Understand that safety of all our attendees comes first and if you’re coming in armor or with prop weapons you will need to be checked thoroughly at security and stop at the prop check station BEFORE entering.
DON’T– Bring props that are not made of approved materials or on our approved items list. Most cosplay props ARE allowed, except for real or replica firearms of any kind, simulated explosives, and bladed metal. See our full list of allowed and prohibited items here.
Don’t wait!
DON’T– Delay! You still have a few more days to save on your Full Event, Single Day, and VIP passes. Prices will go up at 12:01 AM, May 24th.
DO– Purchase before you arrive, even if you’re in your car on the way (as long as you’re not the one driving). Purchase your passes from any mobile device and breeze past the redemption station straight to security and on into the event.
DO– Plan ahead and reserve your parking place now. We’ve got parking options in various parking garages near the Phoenix Convention Center, but spots are limited. If you need parking, get your passes ASAP!
